Meet Dr. Joe Wallace

Chiropractor Cornelius, Dr. Joe Wallace

Exploring the Health Professions

“I was never the type of person to freak out or take medicine if I was sick or hurt. I knew the body was capable of doing amazing things.” Early on in life, Dr. Joe’s foundational beliefs aligned with the chiropractic philosophy. It wasn’t until his sophomore year of college, however, that he began learning about chiropractic care.

Since Dr. Joe knew he wanted to help people live their lives to their fullest potential, he decided to enter the health field. Physical therapists, athletic trainers, medical doctors and occupational therapists were just a few of the professionals he shadowed. Then, a friend asked him if he’d considered chiropractic. When Dr. Joe visited the chiropractor’s office, he felt immediately at home. “The patients were happy and smiling. It was a 180 from the other doctor’s offices where people were sick and didn’t want to be there.”

Inspired by Like-Minded People

Dr. Joe attended Life University in Marietta, Georgia to earn a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. There, he went to a seminar at the urging of a friend. This seminar was held by a group of doctors who belonged to an organization called the Plentz Academy of Chiropractic. The seminar talked about the importance of lifetime wellness care for families. As Dr. Joe was surrounded by like-minded individuals, this group gave him a family and the tools to get to where he wanted to be with his practice.

The additional coursework Dr. Joe has completed include courses toward becoming a Certified Chiropractic Extremities Practitioner (CCEP). “I’m passionate about providing people with care throughout their lives. I want to help them do all the things they love.”

A Love of Nature and Being Active

Dr. Joe loves to spend time outdoors. His favorite place in the world to be is on a boat, hanging out, fishing, wakeboarding, waterskiing or tubing. Though his family moved around in his younger years, he grew up on the lake, where he’d often take the boat out. He enjoys sports and plays in leagues after work, whether it be football, basketball, baseball or volleyball.

Additionally, Dr. Joe likes to go hiking and cheer on the Spartans. As Michigan State University played a pivotal role in his life, he’s loyal to their sports programs. One of the books that guides Dr. Joe is Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, which taught him the importance of having an abundance mindset and living by the golden rule.
